sick francisco part 2

sick again...don't know what it was but over the past weekend i started gettin the exact same symptoms and what feels like the same thing as before. damn this SF weather! yes it is 60 during the day, but it's a chilly 40ish at night. i'm perpetually unprepared. bought a used 4 track, selling the old one. the old one had some other major problems, like a malfunctioning power switch...considering when i received it from my sis in 7th grade (wow, i really think it was around 7th/8th grade) and it was already used at the time, and considering how much i used it, i'm amazed it made it this far. RIP tascam 424. hello 424mkII. you might wonder why i choose to record on old analog stuff. it is not at all for the fidelity (i'm not an analog elitist); i think it is more nostalgic than anything else. there is something different about sitting on your bed with a four-track and an acoustic guitar. it just feels like there is less crap to deal with - easier to get straight to business. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatever. might see batman tomorrow.
hey so what are some good art websites? leave some links in the comments.

hope you feel better soon. being sick is whack.

RIP Tascam. was that the one that Superbounce and Un were recorded on? Those were some experimental trax high-school stylez.

zirafa says:

yeah that was the same fourtrack. actually superbounce is on like the first or second 4 track tape i ever recorded on. wow. was that around the same time as the infamous insect infestation and the neema screama episode?

kvee (not verified) says:

it sure was around that time. dude, the insects were EVERYWHERE...that damned window was open! in fact, that was the night we recorded Un, i think...cuz we had to do the mixing/mixdown in the living room downstairs and then fell asleep on the floor there and ate eggs for breakfast the next day. and finished the mixdown. neemscream was a different night, also amazing. euphio = hot funky irreverent, noisy, cracked out. the many many remixes of superbounce were pretty cool actually. mine was epic, yours never existed (i think), and the one we collab'd on featured drum n bass breaks and an impression of ioannis's dad doing the lyrics from a chemical brothers song. wtf.

peace,
kvee

zirafa says:

hey! hey! hey! my superbounce remix did too exist. ask drew...he has a copy. we also tried to do many remakes...
also i have no idea what the ioannis's dad thing was that you remember...

and to think i was just looking over some pictures yesterday and saw you tinkering with that 4 track while aaron was working on something to lay down for the Mangled Claw verses you can see Dave & Doruk writing in the background...it's actually a pretty sweet picture. Really a record of the times...

Anyway, I got your message last night. I know things are busy. Hopefully all this internet/phone tag will end soon. How is your electrocuted friend doing? You'd think I'd be asking about the woman who got shot in the head but, well, you know. yeah.

so that's that. have you seen Deep Blue? Anyone?

zirafa says:

he's doin alright. nothing serious - in and out of the ER. the woman who got shot in the head, no idea who she was. haven't seen deep blue.... have you seen the new batman? i think i'm gonna see it later this week
