Hello, from Brooklyn. NEW PICSOUNDS ARE UP!!!

I'm sitting here in Dave, Ben and Asif's apartment and rediscovering this city once again. Like I've said before, there is something that just feels right about the place. I made my yearly pilgrimage to Joe's pizza off Bleecker Street (the original fools!) and I think a wave of nostalgia hit me as I was taken back to the Summer of 2003, also known as Probably the Best Summer Ever, when I lived in a 3' x 3' corner of my sister's apartment and made the 45 minute trek each day on the Q train to the penthouse suite of the Steinway building up on 57th street. The spot was Nola Recording Studios, a somewhat hidden but legendary recording studio where such greats as John Coltrane and Milt Jackson once recorded, and of course most of Sesame Street. That spot should be converted into a fucking historical landmark. There I listened to the endearing bullshit dished out routinely by Bill Moss, Jim Czak, and John Post.

I say bullshit but I'm not really sure if they were telling the truth. But in the end it didn't matter because what was the point? They were great stories and I'm pretty sure 90% of it was all true. (maybe.)

But I remember one day I was running some errands with John (no, not fixing the roof, although that is what I did for most of the summer) and John, Didier (another intern) and I stopped by Joe's Pizza off Bleecker. John said it was the best pizza he'd ever tasted; I was a skeptic until I tried it. Ever since then I always try to visit Joe's when I get a chance, partly because it is really good but also partly because I really enjoy that memory.

But yeah I haven't been a very good tourist. Most days I've just been kicking it with Dave and Asif inside their apartment and not really going anywhere. But I also don't feel like a tourist when I'm here, so maybe that's why I don't have the urge to see all the NYC nightlife (that and it's expensive as hell). I like taking it easy and it's good because I need to learn how to relax again.

Anyway, the real news here is that there are NEW PICSOUNDS posted after a close to 9 month dry spell. Kaveh made them during his few spare moments while in Med School which only means that I need to get off my ass and start churning these out more regularly again. If he can do it, then I have no excuse. So enough typing, I've got a lot of work to do! Seeya.

hahaha sorry guys the comments weren't showing up because i accidentally had them in an approval queue. anyway you can post freely now without logging in - I don't see much reason for you to login if you don't want. (although I'm workin on getting an email list setup to notify peeps of shows.)

Spinnerty: Can you resend the artsound??? I'll post it as soon as I can.

Hey Farsheed

We got your stuff in automation at WRFU. You are also listed on our wiki page in local artists. If you have any more radio-friendly tracks, let me know. We can put that shit in there.

Hope you are well in nyc!

hey lynsee,
thanks for putting the tracks in rotation! i'm planning on sticking around the area for a bit so BTE/Z will probably be available for shows as well.
